I grew up in Maryland singing in the choir before I could really hold a conversation.
My aunt was on Broadway in Hairspray — so it never felt like just a dream. It felt like something you could actually do. I went to Walnut Hill, then Michigan, then New York — working the front desk at a gym and going on auditions, until one morning I got a voicemail I’ll never forget.
I believe in the craft as much as the performance. The love of performing can fade — but the love of learning it is what sustains you. Your weird stuff is actually the thing. That’s what I wish someone had told me early.
My Broadway debut was Floyd Collins at Lincoln Center Theater under Tina Landau. Off-Broadway I’ve performed with the Atlantic Theatre Company in Buena Vista Social Club and at York Theatre in A Sign of the Times. On the national tour of Hamilton I understudied Lafayette / Jefferson and Laurens / Philip at the Orpheum in San Francisco.
